This is an authentic Early American home, and one of the rare ones left in Woodstock. The house has been painstakingly preserved from the cedar shake roof to the inlaid Delft tiles in the kitchen. Set on a serene and manicured acre near the beautiful (and walkable) Cooper Lake, the home features a lovely stone patio at the back with a sun-filtering awning. There is a master bedroom suite complete with full bathroom, plus two other spacious bedrooms upstairs (with a shared full bathroom in the hall).

Downstairs is a smaller bedroom (with a single bed) with its own full bathroom. The dining room and sitting room are spacious and elegant, and there are plenty of quiet spots throughout the peaceful house to hide out with a novel or to take a well-deserved afternoon nap.

Summary: We booked a last minute reservation at the Lake Hill House and it was great. It's nearly 200 years old, so has historic charm. The furnishings are appropriate to the house, and the location near town and Cooper Lake is excellent. The owners were reachable and responsive.
