Summary: Immediately noticed a strong and unpleasant smell throughout the house, the floor and carpet was not cleaned or vacuumed. A very dirty crusty sock was found by one of my kids between the couch cushions. There was an "air conditioner" in the dining area but it is an upstairs unit and the window ac was not close to sufficient to cool the unit, especially the bedrooms. It was very hot and we were on vacation with outdoor activities planned, so the fact that we had no escape or relief from the summer heat on our trip was devastating. Many items listed on the overview were not there. There was no fan in the small bathroom to help vent moist warm air from showering in the already hot apartment. The bathtub was peeling fresh paint on our feet during all of our showers. We were given towels late, even though we checked in later than the posted check-in time, and then we were not even given enough towels for each of us to have one. There was a broken wine bottle left in the freezer with spilled wine in it upon check in. The one hand towel left in the kitchen was soiled from the previous tenant. We ended up leaving on our last night there due to the fact that the unpleasant smell intensified and we knew we would not be able to sleep due to the heat. I stayed up and drove 7.5 hours home overnight rather than stay our second night in this place.The neighborhood was active but not bad. The hostess was pleasant and replied to communications in a timely manner.
