This gorgeous home in Kings Beach is ideal for family reunions or couples seeking a luxury Lake Tahoe getaway. The mountain decor and unique decorating touches make this house feel far more like a friends vacation home than a rental house.
Rocky Retreat is located in a quiet, wooded, Old Tahoe residential area, perfect for families, only a few minutes walk from a lovely local beach, 3 minutes to larger Kings Beach (large even in high water years) and a short drive to 10+ North Tahoe ski/boarding resorts and cross-country ski areas. It combines privacy and serenity with easy accessibility to everything Tahoe has to offer. Please be respectful of the full time residents nearby.
The Great Room is expansive but cozy with its high vaulted ceilings, skylights, and many windows. A stone gas fireplace creates a cozy place where the whole family or group can come together to spend a relaxing evening after a day of fun.
French doors lead from the Great Room and Master Bedroom to a redwood deck with a very small view of the lake and a table and chairs perfect for enjoying a cocktail while watching spectacular sunsets over the lake.
Out a sliding door on the other side of the house is a large deck with a gas grill and a mammoth polished wood slab table that overlooks the garden.
The newly renovated gourmet kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped with top of the line appliances and stone countertops, opens to the Great Room, and gracious dining area. The cook, or cooks of the kitchen, is spacious enough to provide for many and will never feel separated from the rest of the group!
Upstairs, on the same level as the Great Room and kitchen, is the Master Bedroom with a vanity area separate from the bathroom. The adjoining Master Bathrooms shower is huge with 2 showerheads. Both bathrooms in the house were updated in 2019.
Downstairs there are 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. The Forest Room has a Queen bed; the Bunk Room has 2 sets of bunk beds and the Garden Room has a Queen bed which looks out on the garden. The furthest bedroom is accessed through the bunk room, so please note that there is not a separate door to the bunk room.
The fully enclosed, landscaped garden has teak garden furniture as well as a couple of chaise lounges.
Access is level, (only one block off the highway-- but despite that, very quiet), snow load is lighter than in most parts of the Lake, and parking for 2 cars is easy.
This home comes with strong wifi, perfect for working at home and supports up to 4 zoom calls.
Rocky Retreat had over 60 five star reviews which had to be eliminated because of changing property management companies. Guests have loved both the location and the house.
Just like most homes in Tahoe, this home does not have AC and is not advertised on the listing. We suggest opening the windows!
