Following the horse drawn carriages that pass right in front of the house will lead you right into the world famous French Quarter. A short two block walk in the other direction will take you the legendary Frenchman Street, center of New Orleans' jazz and live music scene. Close to both the Riverfront Streetcar line and the Rampart-St. Claude streetcar line, which means you don't need a car to explore the city when you stay here. A short walk to some of the city's best restaurants, shopping and bars, Burgundy Cottage is the perfect location for exploring the "Big Easy".
Take a horse drawn carriage ride or walking tour through the historic French Quarter, or you can just as easily walk to many of the city's most popular attractions. Centuries-old architecture, historic churches, world-renowned dining, legendary music and the never-ending party on Bourbon Street, its all just a short walk away. Completely separated by fence from the main house, this Creole cottage was originally built in 1860 and is private, comfortable and cozy, with hardwood floors and central AC/heat. The master bedroom features a super plush king bed and flat screen TV, with an ensuite master bath complete with rain shower and full bathtub. The open loft is up a spiral staircase, and overlooks the living room & features both a luxurious queen bed and a comfortable single bed. Bright and sunny colors throughout, the cottage features works by local artists. The full kitchen features a gas stove and oven, a toaster oven, a microwave, a Keurig coffee maker, and a clothes washer & dryer. Second bathroom off the kitchen also features rain shower and full bathtub. The living room has a 50 inch flat screen Amazon Fire TV with Netflix, Pandora, etc, and features a Trundle bed that turns into either 2 single beds or a double. Hear the distant sounds of church bells, brass bands and ships plying the Mississippi River from the backyard - the sounds of horse drawn carriages or jazz drifting lazily through the neighborhood will help provide the ultimate backdrop to your New Orleans vacation. The yard features a deck complete with a bistro table for outdoor dining, a BBQ for grilling, and a landscaped yard featuring a cocktail pool with a sun shelf for cooling off during hot weather.
