Located in the George Washington National Forest, Mountain Gaze Cabin provides a quiet retreat from the city life and is the perfect place to base your visit to the Lost River area with its many outdoor activities.
Completely remodeled in 2021, this house offers a spacious open living room and dining area, new kitchen, two queen bedrooms, two full baths, a gaming area and an electric car charger. The outdoor space has two large decks for enjoying the sights and sounds of the surrounding nature.
The space
Mountain Gaze boasts a well-equipped open plan kitchen and living/dining with vaulted ceilings. The living area leads out onto two large decks with a screened-in portion off the kitchen for enjoying meals and relaxing alfresco. The living area offers plenty of windows including a picture window to take in the scenery as well as a “Jotul” gas fired stove for additional charm, as well as an excellent source of heat on chilly nights. Don’t be concerned though the house is heated and air-conditioned all year round with a mini-split system.
The bedrooms feature pine ceilings, “Tuft & Needle” queen mattresses, remote controlled ceiling fans, and space for all your relaxing essentials. The master bedroom has a full bath attached. Both beds are supplied with soft and comfortable linens, plentiful pillows, and enough blankets to keep you warm and safe.
The completely remodeled bathrooms offer high end finishes. Both bathrooms feature a full shower and bath tubs where you can enjoy a steamy shower or soak in the tub supplied by our energy-efficient on-demand water heater. You will also enjoy the feeling of our incredibly soft water and its beneficial effects.
The living area is the perfect place to relax and chill with a good book, watch a movie or your favorite on demand show on our large-screen 4k TV. The living area can also provide additional sleeping space with a queen size memory foam pull-out sleeper sofa. The wall mounted TV can also be repositioned to allow viewing from the kitchen or dining area. The modern kitchen has a refrigerator, microwave, a gas oven with air fryer option, a Keurig coffee maker, and an electric kettle.
The large back decks include a screened in portion that have a sectional sofa, dining table and ottomans for dining outdoors. Included is a privacy shade on one side as well as a propane heater for those chilly nights. The other half of the back deck has a comfortable bench and swivel chairs to relax and take in the outdoors. This space also includes a grill for outdoor cooking.
In the front of the house there’s an additional deck with seating for taking in the afternoon sun. There’s a fire pit in the front yard for those late night campfires and s'mores.
Mountain Gaze is equipped with fiber optic high-speed internet (50/25 Mbps) with multiple Wi-Fi access points for stable wireless connectivity. There are 4 large TV’s including a 55” QLED 4k TV in the living room, a 32” LED TV in each bedroom and a large 65” plasma TV in the basement gaming area. All are easily controlled by the Roku platform which include Netflix, Amazon and Hulu to name a few. So, you can enjoy your favorite movie, sporting event or TV show.
The basement gaming area is equipped with a PlayStation 5 gaming console which include two wireless controllers and the following games: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and Astro’s Playroom. Guests will have access to the full-size washer/dryer.
The cabin sits across three acres of lush wooded grounds that is frequented by all types of wildlife. It’s not uncommon to see deer grazing, bunnies playing or even the occasional flock of turkeys.
Guest access
Guests will have access to the house, the game room/laundry room portion only of the basement and the surrounding property.
Other things to note
The premises is equipped with exterior security cameras facing the driveway, front entrance and the side of the house. It is used for security purposes only and monitored only when the property is vacant.
The PS5 controller has a built-in microphone which is active when the device is on but does not record/store any conversations/sounds. It only recognizes voice prompts for enabled games/media.
There is limited to no cell service. There is no dishwasher.
