Summary: We rented this house as a way for my family, parents and brother to spend the holidays together and close to extended family and friends and it was just what we needed. The living room, dining room and kitchen were open plan and where we were able to spend a lot of quality time together. The property’s ground floor was set up well to enable my father to get around easily despite some mobility issues, and was equally fun for our 11 month old son to crawl around. Kitchen was great - we’ll set up with appliances and things like pots and pans to enable us to really enjoy cooking and baking while we were there. It was easy to host friends and extended family for a meal or game night given the house set up and plenty of space in the driveway, too. Host was very responsive when we had questions and very thoughtful in offering to make the space more festive for us. With a young kid, we really appreciated having a washer / dryer plus drying rack at the house. Great location - there is a great grocery store just a five minute walk away and plenty of restaurants nearby. Nearby zoo is great for young kids. My partner and I did some remote work from the house - there was plenty of space for us to both be on work calls while the rest of the family hung out and the wifi worked well even on video calls. My only critiques of the space would be to 1) add a desk chair for the desk upstairs and consider adding a second table or desk to make it easier for 1+ people to work remotely from the house and 2) that the heating was very ineffective in one of the upstairs bedrooms making it hard to use that space in the winter. To be fair, it was unusually cold out during our visit so it may be a bit of an outlier. Overall, very happy with our stay and would consider staying again next holiday season.
