Our “Colorado cabin”, approximately 1900 square foot ranch style home, 3 bedroom, 2 bath, handicap friendly home that sits on approximately 3 acres in a private and secluded area within 5 miles from Penn State, Beaver stadium and the Jordan center is a perfect place to plan on staying on your next visit to the State College region. This home was built in 2021 and is surrounded by trees, where the wildlife literally roam in the back yard. This 3 bedroom home offers a king size bed, queen size bed and a double/twin bunk bed. The hall bath has a tub/shower combo and the bath off the main bedroom has a roll In shower with a shower seat.
The kitchen is equipped with all the necessary appliances and is joined with a large table in the eating space area. The great room has a large smart tv along with a gas fireplace. A laundry room off of the garage has a full size washer and dryer for your use if needed. The full unfinished basement has plenty of tables, chairs, a smart tv and games if you’re needing a place to hang out away from the main part of the house. The private treed back yard has a grill, a picnic table with plenty of chairs for a cook out if you desire. There is a gazebo with a fireplace that will help you enjoy the peace and quiet that this yard has to offer. Enjoy all the walking, hiking trails right off the property or even walk over to the University wine company, a family owned winery that is in the neighborhood.

September 2023: What a BEAUTIFUL home. We couldn't have been more comfortable. The home is large, spotless and has anything you will need. Stocked kitchen, extra pillows, blankets, towels etc. The property is just stunning. We loved having the outdoor fireplace. The only problem is we spent an entire day at a PSU Game and not at this amazing house.
August 2023: Supremely maintained well looked after property! We stayed at Doug's place for nine days during our Penn state visit for children's UG admission. Family of 6 including a three-year-old. we were very impressed by the "attention to detail" and the quality of the items used. No stones were left unturned. During our nine days stay, not once we had to contact the host for any clarification or doubts. Everything was well laid out and arranged. The house is conveniently located and a 5-7 minute drive to the centre. we would like to thank Doug and his team for extending a wonderful stay and for a memorable holiday!

May 2023: The only thing wrong is that we didn’t discover this beautiful home sooner. The hosts made our stay memorable with a custom gift tray for our daughters graduation. The house is spotless, cozy and maintained. We honestly didn't want to leave. The hosts went out of their way to accommodate our needs. If you're looking for a home close to Penn State, this is it!!!
April 2023: We loved this house! Ashley and Doug are wonderful hosts. The location was very convenient to campus, shopping, grocery and restaurants. The property is impeccable, kitchen has everything you need to cook, beds were comfy. We loved sitting outside by the fireplace and playing the various games in the basement. Wish we could have stayed longer!
April 2023: Definitely my favorite rental yet with so many extras! Also, one of the first that I rented with a layout accommodating the disabled /elderly, note master bathroom. A winner for any visitor to Happy Valley, thank you!
February 2023: Colorado Cabin, hosted by Dough and Ashley is an outstanding place to call home for your stay. The level of cleanliness, amenities, provision, and hospitality is unmatched. We just completed our fourth stay at the cabin and each visit feels more like home. The access to PSU is truly under 5 minutes and there is a magical hike within one mile walk from the front door. I am reluctant to add any further accolades for fear of booking competition in the future. Five stars
February 2023: My husband and I travel a lot and have stayed at many short term rentals so we have a lot to compare this to. This was our favorite for so many reasons! So clean, comfortable, beautiful surroundings, outside fire/furniture area. Comfortable beds. Super fun games in the basement. On top of that, Doug and Ashley were so flexible and accommodating! We were celebrating our son receiving his PhD from Penn State and having this wonderful cabin to enjoy and relax in made it so much more special. It could not have been any better and we cannot wait to come back!!
December 2022: We had a fantastic stay at this house The hosts were incredibly accommodating and made sure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was great, and the place was perfect for my parents who have mobility issues and can't walk up stairs. The accessibility features were a huge plus, and we were able to enjoy our trip without any issues. The place itself was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed. I would highly recommend this to anyone. The hosts were an absolute gem and went above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. Thank you for everything!
November 2022: Fabulous place ,quiet, comfortable and you could just stay there all day and be entertained. Kitchen had everything you’d need if you wanted to cook a meal. Outdoor patio and fireplace was a great added feature
