A Very Long Slumber

You decide that the bottle is not worth it and has only led you to misery all of your life. Whether or not you're in limbo or real life, life or death, you are ready to take on the consequences of your mistakes.

However, for the moment, you decide you at least deserved a quick nap on the cold sidewalks of this quiet town.

You wake up in what could have been the longest nap of your life. Only this time, you are on a hospital bed in rainy Seattle... your wife and 3-year old ecstatic that you're finally awake.

After much deliberation, you discover that you were in comatose for a good two years after crashing your car in a drunk driving accident.

Tears start falling from your eyes as you look at your wife and three-year old boy— both in the pink of health.

You embrace them and shower them with kisses, then wonder: "How can one ever be so lucky to wake up into a dream, after sleeping through the longest nightmare?" A question you wouldn't ask the Grim Reaper who was playing babysitter for your son the past few years.
